On this episode of Dating 101, we will cover the do’s and don’t’s of dates. We will review some general conversation framework, and as always, you’ll get some of my personal opinions on how you handle yourself on a date.
This episode was really fun to write, it brought back a lot of fun memories.

Scene: Date Night
Thursday 7:02 PM
It’s date night, you’ve done your pre-date ritual, and you’re on your way to the venue.
It’s the middle of the week, it’s a first date, you chose a “hip, low-key bar with good music, that doesn’t get too packed” as starting spot, and already have a second bar in mind for a change of scenery (this is key).
Sidenote: I will eventually publish a “venue selection primer,” but for now, your goal is to find a place that is no more than a 10-15 min UBER ride from your apartment (walking distance is ideal), that fits the description above.
You were feeling a little generous tonight, so you decided to show up early to the venue instead of late, and you choose to sit up a the bar to talk to the wait staff before your date arrives.
